Australian Kelpie
The Australian kelpie is thought to have been bred from black & tan
border collies which were imported into Australia. They are used to herd sheep
on large sheep farms. They are workaholics, and need to be kept busy otherwise
they will be bored & destructive.
The coat is short and dense, ideal to protect the dog when working outdoors
in all weathers.
Kelpies are one man dogs, and make loyal companions. They are quick learners
and will enjoy puppy school and training class.
A kelpie will make a good watchdog and will bark if they see something
suspicious. Normally they are not aggressive.
Early history of dogs - How breeds developed
| If only
we were as devoted to God, our heavenly Master, as kelpies are to theirs! If
only we longed to hear His voice and instructions. Let's pore over the Bible
and see what God wants us to do! King David of Israel was a man who loved
God. He said, "I open my mouth and pant, longing for your
commands." Psalm 119 v 131 |
