American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff)

About Amstaffs

The American Staffordshire Terrier, or Amstaff, as it is sometimes called, is descended from the Staffordshire Bull Terrier. The breed has its roots in the county of Staffordshire, England, where they were bred to fight other dogs for sport. They were taken to America, where the sport of dog-fighting was popular in the 1800's. Today the American version is said to be less aggressive than the English, though they look a little like a pit bull terrier.

The history of dogs & development of breeds.

Staffords love people! They make loyal pets. Do we love people? Or do we snarl and bite others? The Bible says, "Love God with all your heart, and your neighbour as yourself." Mark 12 verse 31
